Our Story

Learn how Fly Girl Jiu Jitsu began with a four-year-old's protest and grew into a mission to empower girls through martial arts.

How It All Began

It all started with a protest. Four-year-old Xora, all curls and fierce spirit, stood at the edge of the mat, tiny hands on her hips. Looking at her daddy holding out a crisp, black Gi. 'I'm not wearing that,' Xora declared, her voice a surprisingly firm declaration. "It's too…boy."

Her daddy tried to explain the practicality, the tradition, but Xora was unmoved. 'I just want to be cute when I do Jiu-Jitsu,' she insisted, the now-famous phrase echoing through her household.

That's when the spark ignited. Xora, with the boundless creativity of a four-year-old, started sketching. Crayons flew across the page, transforming the plain Gi design into something magical. "I want to be cute too!" Xuri, her two-year-old sister demanded grabbing the crayons! There were sparkles, rainbows, and a unicorn with wings. The idea for the logo was born: a determined-looking unicorn with wings!

Soon, Xora's unique style, matched her Jiu Jitsu. Her confidence blossomed, fueled by her creativity and the joy of expressing herself. She wasn't just doing Jiu-Jitsu; she was doing it her way, CUTE!

Making a Difference

Our commitment to empowering girls extends beyond the mat. When Xora was just 6 years old, she wrote a letter to the President asking him to stop wars because she was sad that kids couldn't have Christmas. This compassion inspired our partnership with the Children of War Foundation.

5% of every Gi sold online goes directly to the Children of War Foundation to help children affected by war. We believe in using our platform to make a real difference in the lives of children around the world.
