How to Measure
To find the perfect gi size for your child, you'll need to know their height and weight. Use the chart above to find the size that best matches both measurements. If your child falls between sizes or their measurements don't align with a single size, we recommend the following:
- Height is more important than weight - When in doubt, choose based on height first
- Between sizes? - If your child is between sizes, we recommend sizing up for room to grow
- Pre-shrunk fabric - Our gis are pre-shrunk, but may still shrink slightly after washing (approximately 1-2%)
Washing Instructions
To maintain the fit and quality of your Fly Girl gi, we recommend washing in cold water and hanging to dry. If you must use a dryer, use low heat. This will minimize shrinkage and extend the life of your gi.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child is between sizes?
If your child falls between sizes, we recommend going with the larger size. This allows room for growth and ensures the gi won't be too tight after washing.
How should a gi fit?
A properly fitting gi should have sleeves that reach about 2 inches above the wrist when arms are extended forward. The pants should end about 2 inches above the ankle. The jacket should be loose enough to allow movement but not so loose that an opponent can easily grab excess material.
Will the gi shrink after washing?
Our gis are pre-shrunk, but they may still shrink slightly (1-2%) after washing, especially if dried in a dryer on high heat. To minimize shrinkage, wash in cold water and hang dry.
Can I return a gi if it doesn't fit?
